The Port Perry bus stop closure at the Walmart shopping centre will now continue through Friday, October 30, Durham Region Transit says.
DRT updated its notice on October 14. The new end date extends the disruption by two weeks beyond the October 16 date previously reported by All About Durham.
Stop 3300, the westbound Highway 7A stop at SmartCentres Port Perry, remains temporarily closed because of construction at the Walmart property. Routes 618 and 905C are affected.
Temporary boarding locations remain in place
- Route 905C and northbound Route 618 use a temporary stop on the SmartCentres driveway near the south entrance to the Bulk Barn parking lot.
- Southbound Route 618 uses a temporary stop on the SmartCentres driveway near the Scotiabank entrance.
The updated notice retains those boarding arrangements. Its material change is the later expected end of the Port Perry bus stop closure, rather than a newly announced route or stop location.
Passengers should check DRT’s current service notice before travelling and use the temporary location appropriate to their route and direction. The October 30 date is the listed end of the construction-related closure, not confirmation that the stop has already reopened.
