TeachingCity Oshawa released its 2025/2026 snapshot, highlighting student photography, cybersecurity, culture planning and 111 work-integrated learning opportunities.
The ninth-year partnership includes Oshawa, Durham College, Ontario Tech, Trent University Durham GTA and the University of Toronto.
Students worked on city projects
Durham College students created photography inspired by Oshawa’s strategic plan. Ontario Tech cybersecurity students monitored public Wi-Fi for threats through a Security Operations Centre partnership.
Culture plan and placements
Post-secondary partners contributed to the Culture Plan through campus pop-ups and student focus groups. Faculty researchers are expected to help validate and refine it.
The snapshot reports 111 placements, practicums and co-ops. TeachingCity Oshawa says students gained applied experience while supporting municipal initiatives.
