Durham Thanksgiving closures will affect regional offices, clinics, child-care services and transit on Monday, October 12.
Regional facilities will close, including headquarters, Provincial Offences Courts, Ontario Works offices and front counters.
Health, family and child-care services affected
Eight regional child-care centres will be closed, along with Family Services Durham and Ontario Works offices in Ajax, Oshawa and Uxbridge.
Health services including oral health, sexual health, breastfeeding and immunization clinics will be unavailable. Water-sample service will be unavailable October 9 and 12 at four locations.
DRT moves to weekend service
Durham Region Transit will operate weekend service. The Specialized Services and On Demand call centre will open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.; the regular call centre and Ajax service desk will close.
Durham Region Outreach and the Primary Care Outreach Program will remain available.
