Ajax human trafficking arrests have resulted in multiple criminal charges against two people following an investigation conducted in Ajax and Toronto, according to Toronto Police.
Police said the Human Trafficking Unit began investigating the allegations in March 2026. Search warrants were executed at addresses in Ajax and Toronto on Thursday, July 16.
Investigators allege that a 27-year-old victim was trafficked through a combination of deception, coercion and control.
Police further allege that the victim was transported to different locations to meet clients and provide sexual services. The money earned by the victim was then allegedly surrendered to the accused.
These allegations have not been proven in court.
Two People Charged Following Investigation
Toronto Police identified the first accused as 30-year-old Toronto resident Nygel Wright.
Wright faces several charges, including trafficking in persons, advertising another person’s sexual services, procuring or exercising control, receiving a financial or material benefit from trafficking, forcible confinement, assault and uttering threats.
He was also charged with weapons and drug-related offences.
Police identified the second accused as 34-year-old Ajax resident Kristen Henderson.
Henderson faces charges that include trafficking in persons by recruiting, procuring or exercising control, receiving a financial or material benefit from trafficking, receiving a material benefit from sexual services and trafficking a Schedule I substance.
Both accused appeared in a Toronto courtroom on July 16.
The Ajax human trafficking arrests form part of an investigation involving alleged activity in both communities. Police have not said whether additional arrests or charges are expected.

Human trafficking involves exploiting another person for profit through force, deception, threats, coercion or control. Police said access to support services and a safe exit strategy remains available to affected individuals.
