A planned Uxbridge power outage is expected to leave more than 2,000 Hydro One customers in part of Uxbridge and neighbouring York Region without electricity for about four hours on Monday, October 12.
Hydro One’s outage map lists the planned interruption from 8 a.m. until noon while crews install new equipment. The affected area is generally bounded by Durham Regional Road 39 and Queensville Side Road East to the north, Concession Road 3 to the east, Vivian Road to the south and Highway 48 to the west.
Residents advised to prepare for four-hour interruption
Customers in and around the affected area should confirm their address on Hydro One’s live outage map because service boundaries do not always follow municipal or road lines. Planned-outage details can also change as crews finalize the work.
Residents who rely on electrically powered medical equipment should review their backup plans in advance. Refrigerators and freezers should be kept closed as much as possible during the interruption, and sensitive electronics can be disconnected before the scheduled start.
Hydro One provides outage alerts by text or email to enrolled customers. Anyone whose service remains out after the listed restoration time should check the current map or contact the utility.
