Liverpool Road restrictions are now in place in Pickering as work proceeds in support of new development.
The southbound curb lane on Liverpool Road, also known as Regional Road 29, is restricted from the Highway 401 off-ramp and Walnut Lane extension area south to Pickering Parkway. Work will also affect the Liverpool Road and Pickering Parkway intersection during the project.
Work expected to continue until December
Durham Region expects the restrictions to remain in place until December, although weather may affect the schedule. Drivers should allow extra time, follow temporary signs and watch for workers, pedestrians and cyclists.
Access conditions may shift as construction advances. Residents and businesses can use Durham Region’s Traffic Watch map for the latest road information before travelling through the area.
The affected section is immediately south of Highway 401 and serves the Pickering City Centre area. Traffic entering Liverpool Road from the highway or approaching Pickering Parkway may experience intermittent delays, particularly during busy periods.
