Durham Regional Police are actively searching for three suspects following a violent Pickering home invasion that occurred on the evening of Friday, May 2, 2026.

According to investigators, officers responded to a break-and-enter call at approximately 10 p.m. at a residence in the area of Apricot Lane and Skyridge Boulevard. The neighbourhood, located near the Brock Road and Kingston Road corridor, became the scene of a brazen and alarming attack that has left local residents deeply concerned about safety in the community.

Police allege that at least three suspects forcibly entered the home and assaulted the tenants inside during the Pickering home invasion. The suspects then stole multiple items from the residence before fleeing the scene in a vehicle. The exact nature and total value of the stolen property has not yet been disclosed by investigators, though it is believed to include personal belongings and electronics.

The condition of the victims has not been publicly released, though police have described the incident as a violent home invasion. It remains unclear whether the victims required hospitalization or were treated at the scene by paramedics. Neighbours reported hearing a disturbance and seeing several individuals leaving the property in a hurry.

Neighbours in the area reported seeing police activity late into the night as officers canvassed the neighbourhood for witnesses and surveillance footage. Multiple police vehicles were spotted on Apricot Lane and surrounding streets as investigators worked to piece together what happened. The Durham Regional Police Auto Robbery Crime Unit has taken the lead on the investigation.

Investigators are appealing to the public for help with the Pickering home investigation. Anyone who was in the vicinity of Apricot Lane and Skyridge Boulevard between 9 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on May 2 is urged to come forward. Police are particularly interested in speaking with residents who may have cell phone video, dash cam footage, or home surveillance recordings from that time frame. Even small details could prove valuable to investigators.

Home invasions remain a serious concern for residents across Durham Region and the broader Greater Toronto Area. These types of crimes often involve multiple suspects who target residences they believe contain valuables. Police have previously urged homeowners to ensure doors and windows are secured, particularly during evening hours when such incidents are most likely to occur. Installing security cameras and motion-sensor lighting can also serve as effective deterrents.

The Pickering neighbourhood where the incident occurred is a quiet residential area with a mix of single-family homes and townhouses. Residents in the community have expressed concern over the brazen nature of the attack, noting that violent crimes of this nature are relatively uncommon in the area. Some residents have indicated they plan to review their own home security measures in light of the incident.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Durham Regional Police Auto Robbery Crime Unit at 1-888-579-1520, extension 5355. Callers can remain anonymous. Tips can also be submitted through Durham Regional Police online platforms or through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Police have not yet released descriptions of the suspects or the vehicle used to flee the scene. Investigators say updates will be provided as the investigation progresses and additional information becomes available to the public.
