Residents across Durham Region are invited to attend the DRPS Community Safety Day as the Durham Regional Police Service hosts a free family-friendly event in Brooklin this September.
The event will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Luther Vipond Brooklin Memorial Arena and Brooklin Memorial Park in Whitby.
Hosted by members of the DRPS Central West Division, the annual event is designed to bring police and the community together through interactive displays, demonstrations and educational activities suitable for all ages.
Free family event
Admission is free, and residents are encouraged to attend with family and friends to meet local officers and learn more about the specialized units that help keep Durham Region safe.
Visitors will have the opportunity to explore a variety of police vehicles and equipment while speaking directly with officers from several DRPS units.
Specialized police units on display
The DRPS Community Safety Day will feature members from a number of specialized teams, including:
- K9 Unit
- Tactical Support Unit
- Drone Unit
- Marine Unit
- Traffic Unit
- Pipes & Drums
Attendees will be able to view police vehicles, equipment displays and interactive exhibits while learning more about the role each unit plays in public safety across Durham Region.
