Four free Oshawa Culture Days workshops will give residents hands-on opportunities to try beadwork, block printing and Ukrainian egg decorating between September 24 and October 3.

Culture Days runs in Oshawa from September 18 to October 4. The national program is intended to encourage participation in arts and culture, with activities offered by the City and community organizations.

Four workshops require advance registration

The City’s first session is Orange T-Shirt Pin Beading with Emily Clairoux on Thursday, September 24 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at South Oshawa Community Centre.

A block-printing workshop with Priya follows Tuesday, September 29 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Donevan Recreation Complex.

Beading on Fabric with Leequette Santiago-Hinds is scheduled for Thursday, October 1 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Arts Resource Centre. The final workshop, Pysanka Ukrainian egg decorating with Irene Chromej-Johnston, takes place Saturday, October 3 from 10 a.m. to noon at Delpark Homes Centre.

All four sessions are free, but advance registration is mandatory and capacity is limited. Residents can register through the City’s Culture Days page.

Convergence festival opens the celebration

Oshawa Tourism’s Convergence Music and Art Festival will help launch local Culture Days programming on September 19 and 20. The City plans free hands-on art activities at Veterans Square from noon to 7 p.m. on both days.

A broader event guide lists additional activities led by local organizations. Schedules and registration requirements vary, so residents should confirm details for each program before attending.

Culture Days programming spans several Oshawa facilities and downtown venues rather than a single site. The four City workshops are the registration-required part of a wider calendar running through October 4.
