Two free Islamic History Month events are scheduled in Whitby and Ajax on October 17 and 18.
The events were highlighted in the latest People of Durham profile of Kubra Mir, executive director and co-founder of Muslim Women of Durham Region.
Storytime planned in Whitby
An Islamic History Month Storytime will take place at the Whitby Central Library on Saturday, October 17, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The following day, the third annual Golden Age celebration will run from noon to 6 p.m. at the Audley Recreation Centre, 1955 Audley Road in Ajax. Organizers say the free event is open to everyone.
