The Wild Fork Whitby closure is part of the frozen-food retailer’s decision to leave the Canadian market and shut all of its stores in the country.
Wild Fork says customers will still be able to use online delivery and pickup until October 13, 2026. Its Canadian stores, including the Whitby location, are expected to close on or before December 14.
A location could close earlier if it sells through its remaining inventory, the company cautioned. Customers planning a visit late in the transition are therefore advised to check with the store before travelling.
Canadian operations are winding down
Wild Fork entered Canada in 2023 and built a small Ontario retail presence. The company has a larger network in the United States, while its Canadian operation includes four Ontario stores.
In a statement reported by Durham Radio News, Wild Fork said it made the decision after careful consideration. The company thanked Canadian customers and said supporting store employees and customers would remain a priority during the shutdown.
The retailer said customers who need help during the transition can use the contact options listed on its Canadian website. It did not provide a separate closing date specifically for Whitby beyond the company-wide deadline and warning that individual stores may sell out sooner.
What Whitby customers should know
- Online delivery and pickup are scheduled to remain available through October 13.
- The Whitby store is expected to close by December 14.
- The location may close earlier if its inventory is sold.
- Customers should confirm that the store is open before making a late-season visit.
The Wild Fork Whitby closure removes one of the company’s four Ontario locations as the chain winds down its Canadian business. No replacement operator or future use for the Whitby location was announced in the information available Tuesday.
