A third Uxbridge substation is planned for Township-owned land at Parks Yard, with the municipality and Elexicon Energy saying the project will support a growing community and strengthen the local electricity system.
The installation is planned at 129 Main Street North. Uxbridge says it is partnering with Elexicon Energy Inc. on the new infrastructure.
Project is intended to add electrical capacity
The new station will be the third electrical substation serving Uxbridge. According to the Township, it is intended to provide additional capacity for downtown Uxbridge and help meet future community needs.
The municipality also says the installation should improve power-restoration times and allow Elexicon to continue providing reliable service as demand grows.
