Refugee claimants seeking employment opportunities in Canada can access free career support and job readiness training through the Refugee Job Connections (RJC) program in Pickering.

Supported by the Government of Ontario, the employment-focused initiative is designed to help refugee claimants develop the skills, confidence, and knowledge needed to successfully enter the Canadian workforce. The program provides practical guidance on navigating the local job market while connecting participants with professional career resources.

Organizers say the program is tailored specifically for refugee claimants who are adjusting to life in Canada and seeking meaningful employment opportunities. Through a combination of workshops, coaching sessions, and interactive activities, participants will gain valuable insight into Canadian hiring practices and workplace expectations.

One of the key benefits of the program is access to one-on-one career coaching. Participants will receive personalized guidance from employment professionals who can help identify career goals, strengthen resumes, and develop effective job search strategies.

The program also includes group learning sessions that encourage participants to build confidence while networking with others facing similar employment challenges. Interactive activities allow attendees to practice workplace communication skills and gain a better understanding of employer expectations.

Mock interviews are another important component of the program. These practice sessions help participants prepare for real job interviews by improving communication skills, answering common interview questions, and receiving constructive feedback from career advisors.

Organizers note that understanding how to stand out in the Canadian job market is often one of the biggest challenges newcomers face. The workshops are designed to address this issue by providing practical advice on resume writing, interview preparation, networking, and professional development.

Upon successful completion of the program, participants will receive a certificate recognizing their participation and newly developed employment skills. This certificate can be used to demonstrate commitment to professional development while pursuing future job opportunities.

Eligibility for the program is limited to refugee claimants who meet the required language proficiency level of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 4 or higher. The program is offered free of charge, ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent eligible individuals from accessing employment support services.

Programs such as Refugee Job Connections play an important role in helping newcomers integrate into local communities while building long-term economic stability. Employment support services contribute to successful settlement outcomes and help participants establish meaningful careers within Canada.

Residents interested in participating can register through the program’s online registration form or contact organizers directly for additional information.
