The Port Perry bus stop closure at the SmartCentres Walmart property has been extended through Friday, October 16.
Durham Region Transit updated the service alert on September 21. Stop 3300, on Highway 7A westbound at SmartCentres Port Perry, remains closed while construction continues at the property.
Routes 618 and 905C remain affected
Passengers using Routes 618 and 905C should continue boarding at temporary locations on the SmartCentres driveway.
- Northbound Route 618 and Route 905C passengers should use the temporary stop near the south entrance to the Bulk Barn parking lot.
- Southbound Route 618 passengers should use the temporary stop near the Scotiabank entrance.
The temporary arrangements replace regular boarding at Stop 3300. Riders should allow extra time to reach the correct location and follow any signs or instructions posted around the construction area.
Extension changes the previous end date
An earlier DRT notice had extended the stop closure to September 25. The September 21 update moves the listed end date to October 16, adding three weeks to the disruption.
Construction schedules can change with site conditions. Passengers planning trips near the Port Perry Walmart should check DRT’s service alerts before travelling in case the stop reopens early or the temporary boarding locations change.
The notice does not announce changes to the routes themselves beyond where passengers board at the shopping centre.
