A 21-year-old rider suffered serious, life-altering injuries in a Pickering motorcycle crash on Liverpool Road, Durham Regional Police say.
West Division officers responded at about 4:35 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7, to a single-vehicle collision on Liverpool Road north of Bayly Street.
Pedestrian struck by debris
Police said the motorcycle was travelling south when the rider lost control and the vehicle left the roadway. Debris also struck a pedestrian who was walking south.
The motorcyclist was taken to a Toronto-area trauma centre. Police said he remained in serious but stable condition when the release was issued. The pedestrian sustained minor injuries and attended a local hospital.
Collision investigation remains open
Members of the DRPS Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene. The cause remains under investigation, and police have not announced charges or identified another involved vehicle.
