12welve Bistro Whitbyy & Tapwerks in downtown Whitby will be closing its doors on February 14, 2026, after nearly seven years of operation.
In a heartfelt message posted on Facebook, owner John Allen expressed gratitude for the community’s loyalty and support over the years, stating that the decision to close was difficult. Allen emphasized that the business was more than just about food and service—it was about creating meaningful relationships and a place for shared moments.
“Most importantly, we want to thank every member of our team, past and present, whose passion, professionalism, and dedication made 12welve what it was,” said Allen.
Despite the closure, all upcoming events booked through ‘Events on 12welve’ will proceed as planned, with event deposits honored and clients contacted. Additionally, customers with 12welve Bistro gift cards are advised to use them before the final service day.
12welve Bistro also clarified that their closure is not related to the brewery, Brock Street Brewing Company, which previously operated in the same building. The brewery had announced its closure late last year, but 12welve Bistro & Tapwerks continued to operate.
