The WattNext Power Expo is coming to Courtice on Saturday, September 19, with a free day of interactive energy exhibits at the Darlington Energy Complex.
Ontario Power Generation’s public event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 1855 Energy Drive. The expo is designed for families, students, teachers and other residents interested in how electricity is produced and how Ontario’s energy system is changing.
OPG says visitors can explore hands-on exhibits, live demonstrations, activities and presentations about power generation and clean energy. The event will also provide opportunities to speak with people working in the energy sector.
Interactive displays will explain Ontario’s power system
The expo is centred on WattNext, an energy-education initiative developed by OPG with the Ontario Science Centre and Ontario Tech University. The program combines learning resources, exhibits and community programming intended to make energy topics accessible to different age groups.
Event information says displays will cover how electricity is generated, how the provincial system operates and why clean-energy technology matters. Visitors can also learn about major projects and fields including nuclear power, hydroelectric generation, station refurbishment and electric vehicles.
Plug’n Drive has confirmed that its EV Roadshow will participate, offering visitors a chance to ask questions about electric vehicles and related technology.
