A new Melissa Heckbert interview gives Whitby residents another candidate conversation to watch before the October 26 municipal election. People of Durham has released episode 64 featuring Heckbert, identified in the programme’s own title as a candidate for Centre Ward regional councillor.
The podcast’s YouTube listing confirms both the guest and the seat she is seeking. Daily Durham reported the episode’s release on October 23.
According to Daily Durham’s account of the discussion, the conversation covers property taxes, downtown heritage, community safety, the library and Station Gallery, hospital support and GO train service. Those are interview subjects and campaign proposals, not decisions approved by the municipality.
The full conversation is available through the original People of Durham video linked below. Residents can hear the candidate’s explanations directly rather than relying only on a summary of the interview.
This release is a separate candidate interview from other People of Durham conversations already covered by All About Durham. Reporting that an interview is available does not constitute an endorsement of the guest or her platform.
