An Oshawa toddler fundraiser is collecting support for the family of a two-year-old girl injured while walking with her daycare group. The GoFundMe campaign, titled “Keiko and Family,” had raised $15,220 from 166 donations when checked early Saturday, October 24.

Organizer Julie Bain says the girl, Eliya, was airlifted to SickKids and is being cared for in intensive care. The appeal asks for help so her parents, Keiko and Aaron, can remain with her while she recovers.

The campaign was created October 22 and was reported by Durham Radio News on October 23 at 4:55 p.m. Its fundraising total is a snapshot and may change as further donations arrive.

The organizer also says the family recently welcomed a baby boy. The purpose described in the appeal is family support during Eliya’s care; the campaign does not provide a detailed spending breakdown or a medical prognosis.

All About Durham previously reported the October 21 Oshawa collision. This follow-up concerns the newly verified family-support campaign and its fundraising figures, not a separate collision, a new charge or an independently confirmed change in the child’s medical condition.

The family’s situation and the request for support are attributed to the campaign organizer. Readers can consult the original fundraiser below for the current total and any updates.
