A Whitby anti-Muslim hate investigation has led to two charges against a 57-year-old man, Durham Regional Police say.
Hate Crime Unit investigators took the man into custody September 23 after investigating social-media posts. Police allege the person used the name Sean Strife online and incited violence and harm against the Muslim community.
Two charges laid
Sean Farro of Whitby is charged with offence motivated by hatred – uttering threats, and incite hatred in a public place. Police said he was held for a bail hearing. The allegations have not been proven in court.
