Durham highway work will bring four later November lane-restriction periods on Highway 401 in Pickering and two westbound work periods in Clarington, according to newly updated Ontario 511 records.
The six provincial entries were updated on November 2. Their dates differ from earlier reported work windows, making them new scheduling information rather than another daily recap of the same closures.
Pickering collector lane: four overnight periods
Ontario 511 lists nightly engineering investigations affecting one right lane of the Highway 401 eastbound collector roadway between Whites Road and Liverpool Road in Pickering.
The four listed periods are:
- November 9 at 11 p.m. through November 14 at 5 a.m., record 251543.
- November 16 at 11 p.m. through November 21 at 5 a.m., record 251624.
- November 23 at 11 p.m. through November 28 at 5 a.m., record 251625.
- November 30 at 11 p.m. through December 5 at 5 a.m., record 251626.
These entries describe recurring nightly work windows, not continuous shutdowns lasting from Monday night to Saturday morning. They affect a right collector lane, not every eastbound lane or the entire highway.
The November 9 and November 16 records were updated at 3:10 p.m. on November 2. The November 23 entry was updated at 3:12 p.m., followed by the November 30 entry at 3:14 p.m.
Two Clarington work periods
Highway 401 westbound between Highway 35/115 and Liberty Street is listed for daily construction affecting one alternating lane. The overall work period begins November 4 at 9 a.m. and ends November 5 at 3 p.m. Record 251537 was updated November 2 at 4:56 a.m.
A separate daily-maintenance entry affects one right westbound lane between Newtonville Road and the westbound Esso service centre in Newcastle. Its listed period begins November 5 at 8 a.m. and ends November 11 at 3 p.m. Record 251553 was updated November 2 at 10:16 a.m.
The daily classification should not be read as a continuous, round-the-clock lane closure across either multi-day period. The records reviewed do not provide a confirmed signed detour.
