Lakeshore East GO passengers are being advised to leave extra time for their trip on Wednesday, November 4, when Take Our Kids to Work Day may make station buildings, parking lots and platforms busier than usual.

A GO Transit service notice, newly active on November 2 through the official Triplinx service-update system, lists Lakeshore East among the affected rail routes. The route information includes Durham College Oshawa GO and Whitby GO, as well as trains towards Union Station.

Allow time before boarding

The notice asks passengers to allow additional time for parking and for getting from the station to their platform. It also encourages riders to spread out along the platform and use all available train doors when boarding.

Passengers are advised to plan how they will pay for their trip before arriving at the station. The notice does not announce a specific fare change or a new boarding requirement.

A crowding advisory, not a cancellation

The update concerns possible additional activity associated with Take Our Kids to Work Day. It does not announce cancelled Lakeshore East GO trains or quantify an expected increase in passengers.

Lakeshore West and Stouffville are also listed in the notice. Durham commuters should check their own trip details and current service updates before travelling, particularly if they need time to park or navigate an unfamiliar station.
