A Peter Matthews Drive detour will change Durham Region Transit routes 112 and 112B in Pickering beginning Monday, October 26 at 6 a.m.
Durham Region Transit posted the notice October 22 and says the construction-related road closure will affect service until further notice. No end date is given.
Northbound Route 112 will travel via Taunton Road, Burkholder Drive, Hibiscus Drive, Sapphire Drive, Taunton Road and Peter Matthews Drive north of Taunton Road.
Southbound Route 112 will use Peter Matthews Drive, Taunton Road, Sapphire Drive, Hibiscus Drive and Burkholder Drive. Route 112B will travel via Burkholder Drive, Hibiscus Drive, Sapphire Drive and Taunton Road.
Stop 94418, Burkholder northbound at Peter Matthews Drive, will not be served during the detour. The notice does not identify a temporary replacement stop or a reopening date, so passengers who normally use that stop should check their trip before travelling.
The Peter Matthews Drive detour is a transit service change connected to construction. Earlier reporting about lane restrictions in the corridor does not replace these new bus routing instructions.
Riders can contact Durham Region Transit at 1-866-247-0055 for trip assistance and should review the agency’s current service alerts for any further changes.
