The Debwewin Mikkan closure in downtown Oshawa is scheduled for Monday, October 26, from 7 p.m. until midnight.
In an October 22 notice, the City says the affected section runs between Centre Street South and Queen Street. During the closure, access will be available only to Oshawa election officials and emergency vehicles.
The City will post road closure and detour signs in accordance with provincial standards. Other drivers should use the posted detour rather than enter the restricted section.
The closure falls on municipal election night, but the notice does not announce a change to voting hours, polling arrangements or pedestrian access. Residents should consult the separate election information for voting instructions.
People travelling downtown that evening should account for the five-hour restriction when planning their route. The City apologised for the inconvenience and directed questions to Service Oshawa at 905-436-3311.
The Debwewin Mikkan closure notice gives midnight as the scheduled end of the restriction. It does not identify another road closure as part of this announcement.
