Whitby Animal Services is looking for towel donations to help care for animals at its shelter, following a local appeal reported on October 16.
The Town’s official Animal Services page confirms that towels are among the supplies it welcomes. The Animal Services Centre is located at 4680 Thickson Road North in Whitby.
Durham Radio News reported Friday that residents can bring freshly washed bath towels to the shelter lobby. Before making a trip, donors can contact Whitby Animal Services at 905-655-0283 to confirm the current drop-off arrangements and whether their items are suitable.
The municipal page lists regular service from Monday to Saturday, with closing time at 4:30 p.m.; the office is closed Sundays and statutory holidays. Published opening times vary between sections of the municipal page and the news report, so residents planning an early visit should confirm directly.
Other supplies listed by the Town include cat and dog treats and toys, grooming supplies, new collars and leashes, and kitten milk replacement. Financial donations also support animal welfare and public education programs.
Residents considering a donation should check with the centre about its current needs rather than assume every type of household linen or used pet equipment can be accepted.
