Clarington Mayor Adrian Foster has issued a statement honouring hometown soccer hero Allysha Chapman, following her retirement from international soccer.
Chapman, a defender from Courtice, represented Canada in 100 games, won Olympic medals and competed at the FIFA Women’s World Cup. In his statement, posted October 13, 2026, Foster said Chapman inspired Clarington children to play the game and wished her well for the future.
