The new Ashgrove Park playground in Scugog will officially open with a community ribbon cutting on Wednesday, October 14.
The Township of Scugog is inviting residents to gather at the park at the corner of Ash Street and Forestlane Way. Opening ceremonies are scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
New playground equipment ready for families
Council members and township staff are expected to take part in the grand opening. Visitors will be able to try the new playground equipment after the ceremony.
The township also plans to serve fall flavours and festive refreshments. The notice does not list a registration requirement or admission charge.
The event is intended to mark the completion of the new play space and give neighbourhood families a first look at the equipment. Residents attending with children should follow posted park rules and supervise young users.
Ribbon cutting starts at 4 p.m.
The ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon, making it a short after-school community event. Scugog has not announced a rain date in its notice, so residents may want to check the township website for any weather-related update before leaving.
Ashgrove Park is one of the public parks and playgrounds maintained by the township. Additional details about local park locations and amenities are available through Scugog’s parks and playgrounds directory.
The Ashgrove Park playground opening is a municipal event rather than a private promotion. The township published the invitation on October 7.
