Workout with a Cop will give people interested in policing a chance to train alongside Durham Regional Police officers in Bowmanville on November 23.

The police service announced the session through its official social-media account on November 5 and linked an East Division registration form for November 2026.

Bowmanville venue and check-in

The announcement identifies the new Bowmanville Community Complex Dome at 1 West Side Drive as the location. Registration at the event starts at 12:15 p.m., according to DRPS.

Participants will have an opportunity to run the BEEP Test, work out with officers and learn about policing careers. The post says officers from Recruiting, Patrol, Special Constables, Auxiliary and other areas will be available.

DRPS describes the session as relevant both to people preparing for the police application process and those looking for a fitness challenge. The announcement does not state that attending guarantees a job or replaces any step in the police hiring process.

Applications and eligibility

The official Workout with a Cop form says applicants must be at least 18 years old. Registration forms must be completed in full for an application to be processed.

The form asks about interest in applying to DRPS, whether an applicant has a valid Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police certificate, and previous participation in an East Division workout session. These questions are part of the application; the form does not present them as a promise of selection.

Applicants selected for the session will be notified by email. DRPS reserves discretion over participant selection, so submitting the form should not be treated as confirmation of a place.

The linked form also includes participation and photography acknowledgments. Prospective attendees should review the complete official information before applying and use the DRPS registration page rather than supplying personal details through an unrelated event listing.

The announcement gives the check-in time, but does not specify an end time or a separate workout start time. Those details should be confirmed through the police service if needed for travel planning.
