Durham weekend events for November 7 and 8 include community bazaars, an accessible holiday market and a Port Perry fundraising auction. Two cultural programmes appearing in current listings are already marked sold out by their organizers.

The following details were checked against the responsible organizations’ own pages on November 5, after a new DurhamRegion.com weekend roundup highlighted the events. Ticket availability and organizer updates matter more than an older calendar invitation.

Saturday markets in Courtice

Faith United Church’s fall programme calendar confirms its United Church Women bazaar for Saturday, November 7. The church is at 1778 Nash Road in Courtice.

The calendar confirms the date but does not set out full admission or vendor information. Visitors should check directly with the church for those details rather than assume that arrangements from a previous year’s bazaar still apply.

Also in Courtice, Ebenezer United Church will hold its Winter Marketplace on November 7 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The official event page gives the venue as 1669 Courtice Road.

The marketplace appears twice under slightly different names in the secondary weekend listing. It is one event, not two separate markets.

Accessible holiday event in Whitby

Abilities Centre’s Festival of Trees and Holiday Market runs Saturday, November 7, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 1 Jim Flaherty Street in Whitby.

The organizer describes a fully accessible indoor event with more than 90 local artisan vendors, family activities and visits with Santa. Decorated holiday trees will also be available, with proceeds supporting the community.

The official page has an attendee-registration link. Its separate vendor-registration period has already ended, so a listing for shoppers should not be read as an open invitation to apply for a vendor space.

Auction timetable in Port Perry

Port Perry United Church’s fall fundraising auction also takes place November 7 at the church, 294 Queen Street.

The silent auction opens at 11 a.m. and closes at 12:30 p.m. A live auction led by Neil Bacon follows at 1 p.m. Box lunches will be available to purchase, according to the church.

Those stages have different times. The 11 a.m. start in a general weekend calendar refers to the beginning of the auction programme, not the start of live bidding.

Oshawa bazaar and Pickering family programme

St. Matthew’s Poinsettia Bazaar & Craft Sale takes place November 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 135 Wilson Road South in Oshawa, according to the Diocese of Toronto’s fundraising calendar. The programme includes crafts, baking and a lunch cafe, with food available while quantities last.

Pickering Public Library lists Explore and Discover the Festival of Lights with EarlyON for children aged six and under on November 7, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The venue is the Quiet Study Room at George Ashe Library. Families should consult the library’s event page for participation details.

Two cultural events are sold out

Greenbank Folk Music Society’s November 7 Caroline Marie Brooks concert is marked sold out on its current 2026–27 season page. Brian O’Sullivan is listed as the opening artist. The show is connected with Brooks’s new solo album, Light and Matter.

Oshawa Museum likewise marks its Sunday, November 8 Tea & Talk on Oshawa and remembrance as sold out. The programme is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Guy House and concerns how the city remembers people involved in wars and conflicts.

Neither sold-out listing should be treated as confirmation that drop-in places or tickets remain available. People who already hold reservations should follow the organizer’s instructions.

These Durham weekend events span Courtice, Whitby, Port Perry, Greenbank and Oshawa. The source links below provide the responsible organizers’ current details.
