The Whitby missing man who was the subject of an earlier police appeal has been located safe, Durham Regional Police say.
In an October 31 update headed “Missing Person Located | Whitby,” the police service confirmed that the vulnerable 39-year-old man had been found safe and sound. Police asked the public to remove his image from circulation.
Update ends earlier search appeal
The confirmation is a substantive change from the earlier search notice for Abdul, 39. All About Durham previously reported that police were seeking him after he was last seen in the area of Dundas Street West and White Oaks Court on October 31.
That earlier appeal is no longer a current request to help find him. People who shared the notice should follow the police request to stop circulating his image.
No further circumstances released
The located-safe update does not describe where the Whitby missing man was found or provide further information about the circumstances. No additional details about his condition or the search have been announced in that notice.
