An Uxbridge bus detour will affect Durham Region Transit Routes 605 and 905C during a filming-related closure on Railway Street from Thursday evening, October 22, through Saturday morning, October 24.

DRT’s October 21 service notice sets the detour window from 8 p.m. Thursday to 9 a.m. Saturday. Riders using the affected stops will need to board at an alternative location during that period.

Two regular stops will not be served

Buses will detour via Albert Street, Railway Street and Brock Street, according to the transit agency. DRT identifies two stops that will be out of service:

  • Stop 93704: Railway Street southbound at Albert Street.
  • Stop 2424: Toronto Street southbound at Brock Street.

Customers may use a temporary stop on Railway Street south of Albert Street. Route 605 customers have an additional option at the regular-service stop 93740, Brock Street eastbound at Toronto Street.

Plan around the temporary boarding changes

The Uxbridge bus detour is a temporary routing change, not an announcement that Routes 605 and 905C are being cancelled. The notice specifies the detour streets and replacement boarding options, but does not announce a broader timetable or fare change.

Passengers should check the official service alert before travelling, particularly if their trip normally begins at either of the two suspended stops. The temporary Railway Street stop is south of Albert Street; the additional regular stop identified specifically for Route 605 is on Brock Street eastbound.

The filming-related road closure is the reason given by DRT. The service notice does not identify a production or announce public access to a filming set.

Daily Durham also reported the same October 22–24 detour on October 21. The route numbers, operating window, stop numbers and alternative boarding locations above have been checked against DRT’s own notice.
