Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a Pickering commercial break-in suspect following an incident at a construction company earlier this fall.
According to Durham Regional Police, a male suspect used bolt cutters to remove chains securing the front gate at 24/7 Vacuum Excavation on 8th Concession Road in Pickering during the early morning hours of October 7.
Investigators say the suspect attempted to steal diesel fuel from two separate fuel tanks before fleeing the area in a dark-coloured SUV. Police noted the vehicle had a rear passenger-side wheel that appeared different from the others.
The suspect is described as white, approximately 5’7” to 5’8” tall, with a heavy build. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black Under Armour hoodie and black pants.
Anyone who can identify the suspect or has cellphone, dashcam, or surveillance footage related to this incident is asked to contact Detective Obront of the West Crime Team at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 1905.
Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Durham Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online. Tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward.
