Durham Region Transit (DRT) is detouring Route 227 in Ajax from Friday, October 30, 2026, until further notice because of weight restrictions on Shoal Point Road south of Ashbury Boulevard, the transit agency says.
Route 227 trips will detour via Shoal Point Road, Bayly Street and Pickering Beach Road. Customers should expect delays of up to 10 minutes.
Stops on Range Line Road will not be served during the detour, nor will stop #94290, Pickering Beach Road southbound at Dreyer. A temporary stop will be placed on Dreyer Drive, eastbound at Pickering Beach Road.
DRT lists the detour as a service alert effective October 30 until further notice. Riders can contact DRT customer service at 311 within the region or 1-866-247-0055 for trip help.
