The Gardenerette holiday market will bring local makers and seasonal activities to the garden centre near Bowmanville on November 28 and 29, alongside a food drive for Feed the Need Durham.
The organizer lists the first Christmas at Gardenerette for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days at 2535 Taunton Road. Admission and parking are free.
Plans include 30 local vendors, live music from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., photos with Santa from noon to 2 p.m. and children’s ornament-making, listed at $5 per child. Food, cider and hot chocolate are also advertised; individual purchases may cost extra.
Non-perishable food donations can be dropped off between November 1 and December 17, according to the venue’s event page.
A November 8 Metroland feature describes owner Aisha Dhalla’s plans for a community gathering place at the former Country Market. The two-day market and food collection are separate from the individual craft workshops already listed on All About Durham.
Check the organizer’s current information for programme changes and availability before making the trip.
