An Oshawa family is asking for community support after the death of Tina, a wife and mother of two, on November 3.
In a public GoFundMe appeal, Andrew Brooks says his wife died after more than seven years living with metastatic breast cancer. He describes their 23 years together and the responsibility of caring for their children, Andrew and Cecily.
The fundraiser, titled “Help support Tina’s family after passing,” says donations will help cover funeral expenses, essential household bills and mortgage payments while the family adjusts to its loss.
The public page identifies Brooks as the organizer in Oshawa. When checked on November 8, it displayed $11,989 raised toward a $25,000 goal from 69 donations. These figures are a time-of-check snapshot and may change.
Brooks also asks people who cannot contribute financially to share the appeal. The account of Tina’s illness and the family’s circumstances is attributed to his statement; it is not an independent medical assessment.
Daily Durham published a report about the appeal on November 7. The original fundraiser is linked below for readers who want to review the organizer’s full account and current details.
