  • Health Services: All immunization, breastfeeding, and sexual health clinics will be unavailable.

  • Adult Day Programs: Services at Hillsdale Estates (Oshawa) and Lakeview Manor (Beaverton) will be suspended for the day.

Water Sample Collection Disruptions

Residents relying on private well water testing should note a specific disruption. Water sample drop-off and pick-up services will be unavailable on both Friday, May 15, and Monday, May 18 at the following locations:

Durham Regional Transit (DRT) Schedule

Transit riders should plan for Weekend Service levels on the holiday Monday:

  • On-Demand Services: The Specialized Services Call Centre will remain open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

  • Customer Support: The general Customer Service Call Centre and the Westney Road South desk in Ajax will be closed.

  • Online Tools: Riders are encouraged to use the DRT website or mobile apps for real-time scheduling.

Essential Support and Emergency Services

Despite the widespread closures, Durham Region Outreach remains available to support individuals experiencing homelessness. Help can be reached via:

  • Phone: 311 (within Durham) or 905-668-4113 (ext. 5510).

  • Toll-Free: 1-800-372-1101 (ext. 5510).

For Provincial Offences Court matters, the 24-hour drop box at the south entrance of Regional Headquarters remains available for document filing, though these will not be processed until the region reopens on Tuesday.
