Uxbridge winter parking restrictions take effect November 1, 2026, with overnight parking prohibited on municipal roads and in municipal parking lots between 2 a.m. and 7 a.m.

The Township of Uxbridge issued the seasonal reminder on October 30 as crews prepare for snow clearing and sanding. It says vehicles that interfere with those operations may be ticketed.

Sidewalks must be cleared within 24 hours

Property owners are responsible for removing snow, slush and ice from sidewalks beside their property within 24 hours of a snowfall, according to the township. That responsibility also extends to snow and ice on roofs that overhang near sidewalks.

The township asks residents to keep fire hydrants visible and accessible. Snow clearing should not leave obstructions on sidewalks, curbs, roads or around hydrants.

The notice lists fines of $250 for obstructing roadways and $350 for obstructing fire hydrants or sidewalks. Residents can consult the township’s linked parking and snow-removal pages for the underlying rules and additional details.

Leave space for winter road work

The township also urges drivers to adjust to changing conditions. Its advice includes reducing speed, leaving more braking distance and allowing extra space when snow or slush from other vehicles reduces visibility.

Snowbanks can make pedestrians harder to see, particularly at intersections and during turns. Drivers should slow down and remain alert rather than assuming a clear view of the sidewalk.

Working snowplows also need room. The township notes that plows move slowly and may create blowing snow; the road ahead of a plow can remain snow-covered even when the road behind it has been cleared.

The Uxbridge winter parking reminder is a seasonal service notice, not a forecast that snow will arrive on November 1. The overnight restrictions apply from that date so municipal crews can carry out winter maintenance when needed.
