A Regional Road 8 closure will affect a short section just east of Concession Road 5 in Uxbridge from Monday, November 2, through Thursday, November 5, according to a new notice from Durham Region.
The Region says the closure is needed for urgent repairs. Crews will replace twin culverts, improve roadside ditching and resurface the asphalt.
Where the closure applies
The notice identifies the affected section as Regional Road 8 from east of Concession Road 5 to a point 50 metres east of that intersection. It does not describe a shutdown of the entire road.
Drivers who use this part of Uxbridge should plan around the work and check current traffic information before travelling. The Region asks motorists to exercise caution around pedestrians, cyclists and construction crews.
Weather could change the schedule
The November 2–5 dates are the planned construction window. Unfavourable weather may affect the schedule, the Region says.
The public notice does not provide daily closure hours or a named detour route. Travellers should follow posted signs and current official directions rather than assume a particular bypass is available.
Durham Region published the Regional Road 8 closure notice on October 30. Its TrafficWatch service provides current construction and traffic information across the region.
