Durham email subscriptions need to be renewed by residents who want to keep receiving regional news and service information following the relaunch of durham.ca.
The Regional Municipality of Durham has introduced a refreshed website and new subscription categories. People who received the Region’s email updates before the change are being asked to register again at the Region’s official subscription page.
Subscribers can enter their contact information and choose the topics they want delivered. Available updates include regional news, public-health information, tourism material and This Week in Durham stories.
Residents can choose which Durham updates they receive
The renewal step allows residents to select the information that is relevant to them instead of automatically carrying older mailing-list choices into the rebuilt website.
The official subscription page says email updates cover the Region’s activities, events, programs and operations. The site also links residents to municipal services, public-health information, roads and transit, waste collection, housing, council, tourism and other regional programs.
Durham Region serves Ajax, Brock, Clarington, Oshawa, Pickering, Scugog, Uxbridge and Whitby. The relaunch replaces the Region’s former web structure, and some older links may no longer lead to their previous pages.
Daily Durham reported the re-subscription request Sunday evening, citing the Region’s new subscribe page as its source. The public subscription page was active Monday morning.
How to renew a Durham email subscription
Residents can visit the Region’s official subscription page, provide the requested details and select the categories they want to receive. Anyone who does not complete the new registration may stop receiving the updates they previously followed.
People who have questions about the website or regional services can call 311 from within Durham Region. The Region also lists 905-668-7711 for callers outside the local 311 service area and 1-800-372-1102 as its toll-free number.
Residents should use the official durham.ca page rather than links in unexpected messages when changing their Durham email subscriptions. The Region’s own page provides the current category choices and contact information.
