Whitby election results show Elizabeth Roy leading the mayoral contest with 19,177 votes, or 51.87 per cent after voting closed on Monday, October 26, according to the municipality’s published unofficial tally.
Chris Leahy followed with 16,122 votes, or 43.60 per cent. Harshini Rajmohan received 1,674 votes, or 4.53 per cent, in the three-candidate race.
Roy’s lead over Leahy was 3,055 votes in the municipal reporting service retrieved early October 27. Durham Radio News also reported Roy’s re-election in its election-night regional roundup.
The results dashboard displayed all 63 tabulators reporting, 37,267 ballots cast and 31.12 per cent turnout from 119,763 eligible voters. The mayoral candidates’ totals add to 36,973, which should not be confused with the dashboard’s municipality-wide ballots-cast figure.
The town’s election page embeds a separate results service, with navigation for the four wards and school-board races. The mayoral figures above were read from that embedded municipal service, not inferred from campaign posts or an earlier turnout update.
The Whitby election results mark the outcome of Monday’s vote rather than another reminder about voting methods or campaign priorities. Any subsequent clerk-certified declaration should be checked through the town’s official results page.
These are unofficial results from the October 26, 2026 municipal election. Certification by the municipal clerk is a separate step; the figures should not be described as a certified declaration.
