A new takeout-focused eatery blending South Asian spices with comfort-food favourites has recently opened in north Oshawa. Not Too Shabby, located at 1812 Simcoe St. N., opened its doors in late December 2025, offering a fresh take on smash burgers, sliders, and loaded sides.
The restaurant shares a space with Gomoku and Nathan’s Jerk and is primarily designed for takeout, with limited seating available. The compact space is filled with vibrant murals, adding to the cozy atmosphere of the restaurant.
The menu features comfort classics such as smash burgers and fried chicken, along with unique side options like Jaffna Fries, which are infused with flavours from Jaffna, Sri Lanka. Slider options include beef, chicken, jerk chicken, and mutton curry, while rice bowls offer selections such as chicken curry, mutton curry, and kathirikai curry (eggplant curry).
Not Too Shabby is an exciting addition to Oshawa’s growing food scene, offering delicious and innovative dishes inspired by Tamil-Inspired Street Food Oshawa and South Asian flavours.
