A dramatic temperature swing is expected across the region as Southern Ontario 11 C temperatures are forecast to bring a springlike feel by the weekend. The upcoming week will begin with bitter cold and wind chills before gradually transitioning into milder air and double-digit daytime highs.

Sunday night will remain clear, but temperatures will plunge sharply. Winds will increase to 20 km/h, pushing overnight lows to -18 C. Wind chills will make it feel closer to -25 C overnight, creating dangerously cold conditions across Durham and surrounding areas.

Monday will offer sunshine with lighter winds around 15 km/h. Although the daytime high is expected to reach -5 C, morning wind chills near -24 C will make it feel significantly colder before improving to -11 C in the afternoon. Clear conditions will continue into the evening, with temperatures dipping to -9 C and wind chills reaching -16 C.

By Tuesday, conditions begin to shift. Cloud cover increases with a 70 percent chance of snow or rain as temperatures rise above freezing to 2 C. Overnight, skies remain mostly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of snow and lows around -2 C.

Wednesday stays overcast but slightly warmer, with a high of 4 C and overnight temperatures near 2 C. Thursday continues the mild pattern with a 60 percent chance of rain and highs of 4 C. Evening temperatures remain steady around 4 C.

The most noticeable change arrives Friday as milder air settles in. There is a 40 percent chance of rain with daytime highs reaching 8 C. Overnight temperatures remain mild at 7 C under mostly cloudy skies.

By Saturday, Southern Ontario 11 C temperatures are expected to peak at 11 C, marking a dramatic change from the frigid start of the week. While showers remain possible with a 60 percent chance of rain, many residents across Durham Region and the GTA will notice a distinct springlike atmosphere. Evening temperatures may hover near 9 C, though a cooler air mass could briefly make it feel closer to -1 C.

Residents are advised to prepare for fluctuating conditions throughout the week, including icy mornings, wet roadways, and rapidly changing temperatures. The shift toward Southern Ontario 11 C temperatures will provide temporary relief from winter’s grip, but unstable weather patterns remain possible as March begins.
