The Region of Durham has hired Road Surface Recycling Ltd. to repave Shore Line Road (Regional Road 47) in the Township of Brock, from Mara Road to the Durham Region and Simcoe County boundary.
From Mara Road to Thorah Concession Road 9, the work includes pulverizing the existing asphalt, placing new granular material and asphalt, and replacing ditching and culverts to improve roadside drainage. From Thorah Concession Road 9 to the boundary, it includes full-depth asphalt removal, new asphalt, ditching and culvert replacements, and a new segment of steel beam guide rail.
Crews were on site the week of November 2 to prepare for the work. Ditching and culvert replacements will take place in 2026, with the remainder of the work beginning in May 2027 and a further notice to follow in 2027.
Daily lane restrictions will be required for the duration of the project. A full road closure of Shore Line Road will be required for work near the Canadian National Railway crossing, with notice provided ahead of time. Drivers should expect delays and allow extra time, and residents nearby may notice noise and ground vibrations from the equipment.
