The Hospice Whitby catalogue is giving community members a more specific way to support the future Roger Anderson House: choosing furniture or equipment and directing a donation toward that item.
Durham Radio News reported the Making a Hospice a Home initiative on November 3. The hospice’s own catalogue confirms the item-by-item approach, explaining that gifts attached to a particular listing go toward that piece.
Comfort and practical care needs
The selection brings everyday comfort and the practical work of a hospice together. Room furnishings include cuddle beds, love seats, sleeper chairs and recliners. Equipment listings range from an electric lift and a towel-and-blanket warmer to appliances used for food preparation, storage and laundry.
The Hospice Whitby catalogue displays both funding needs and completed items. A spa tub was marked fully funded when the page was checked. Availability and remaining quantities can change, so prospective donors should consult the live catalogue rather than assume an item still needs support.
A new way to support the future residence
The initiative is separate from a construction progress announcement: its immediate purpose is to connect gifts with the furnishings and equipment needed to make the future residence comfortable and functional.
People who do not want to select an item can use the catalogue’s general giving option, which directs support toward current priorities. The page also identifies a development contact for questions.
The illustrations used in the catalogue are examples, not a guarantee that the eventual purchases will look identical. This report does not announce an opening date or suggest that residential admissions have begun.
