Durham police are seeking public assistance after a Pickering school hold and secure was implemented following a reported threat.
According to the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS), officers responded to William Dunbar Public School in Pickering at approximately 11:40 a.m. on January 28 after a threat was received by telephone. Police did not release details about the nature of the threat.
As a precaution, the school was placed under a hold and secure while officers conducted an investigation. Police confirmed the school was later cleared and the hold and secure was lifted at approximately 2:20 p.m.
DRPS stated the investigation remains ongoing and is asking anyone with information related to the Pickering school hold and secure incident to contact police at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 2526.
