A male suspect has been arrested following an Oshawa armed robbery at a fast-food restaurant, according to Durham Regional Police.

Police say officers from Central East Division responded to an armed person call at Church’s Chicken, located at 70 King Street East, at approximately 10:50 p.m. on Monday, January 26, 2026.

Police confirmed that no physical injuries were reported.

The accused, Charlie Cameron Cook, 22, of Oshawa, is charged with:

  • Robbery

  • Mischief under $5,000

  • Possession of a dangerous weapon

  • Possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon

  • Disguise with intent

He was held for a bail hearing.

Durham police continue to investigate the Oshawa armed robbery and are asking anyone with cellphone, dash-cam, or surveillance footage to contact D/Cst. Armstrong of the Central East Division Criminal Investigations Branch at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 2741.

Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Durham Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online. Tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward.
