The Oshawa scouting watch list now includes three Generals: Tyler Hinde, Mark Pape and Cruz Reznik have received ratings on NHL Central Scouting’s Preliminary Players to Watch List.
The team announced the selections on October 26. The recognition concerns the players’ early scouting assessments, rather than a game result or a completed NHL selection.
Hinde receives B rating
Hinde has the highest rating among the three Oshawa players. His B grade corresponds to a projected second- or third-round selection, according to the Generals’ announcement.
The team’s statistical snapshot lists nine points in 15 games for Hinde, including six goals. Those figures describe his season at the time of the announcement.
Pape and Reznik also listed
Pape and Reznik each received W ratings, which the club describes as projections for the sixth or seventh round.
Pape had recorded five goals and two assists through 14 appearances. Reznik’s reported goaltending figures came from one game: a .917 save percentage and a 2.03 goals-against average.
Both players joined Oshawa in the summer transaction that sent Owen Griffin to the Guelph Storm, the Generals said.
The Oshawa scouting watch list recognition is preliminary. A projected round is not a promise that a player will be drafted in that round, and the club’s report does not announce an NHL contract or draft selection for any of the three.
