Oshawa invites cultural organizations to propose exhibitions for City Hall display space

by All About Durham Editorial Team in Arts & Culture , News

The City of Oshawa is inviting Oshawa-based organizations, collectives and post-secondary programs in the creative and cultural industries, as well as Indigenous organizations, to submit proposals for temporary exhibitions at Art & Culture in the Hall, the display space outside Council Chambers at City Hall.

Proposals can include art, heritage, cultural and community storytelling exhibitions. Up to four proposals will be selected, and the exhibitions will be on display from February 2027 to August 2027.

Submissions will be accepted until 12 p.m. on Friday, November 13. A selection committee made up of representatives from the City’s Cultural Leadership Council, Public Art Task Force and/or City staff will review the submissions.

Details on the exhibition space, application requirements, selection criteria and eligibility are available through the City’s Artist Calls page. The City notes this call is for organizations, collectives and post-secondary programs, and that a separate call for individual artists for Art & Culture in the Hall will launch in early 2027.
