The DCDSB veterans tribute is inviting members of Durham’s Catholic school community to submit the names of veterans and serving military personnel for a public remembrance display in November.
The Durham Catholic District School Board announced the invitation on October 27. Submissions are due by 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, through the form linked in the board’s announcement.
Names will appear online and in Oshawa
The board says submitted names will be displayed on its website and on the digital sign outside the Catholic Education Centre at 650 Rossland Road West in Oshawa. The display is scheduled for November 8 to 12.
That period includes Indigenous Veterans Day on November 8 and Remembrance Day on November 11. The invitation covers veterans, active service members and other military personnel whose service and sacrifice community members will be remembering.
The DCDSB veterans tribute is a name-submission initiative, not an announcement of a single public ceremony at the education centre. Families wishing to participate should use the board’s form before the deadline and review the information requested there.
Remembrance across the school community
The board also says students and staff will take part in prayer services, liturgies, learning opportunities and remembrance activities. Its announcement honours those who served in the First and Second World Wars, the Korean War and later periods of service, including Indigenous veterans and those who died serving the country.
Community members can find the submission link and complete participation details in the official notice below.
