Oshawa Highway 401 lane work will continue beyond the previously reported October 18–23 construction window, with new Ontario 511 entries adding overnight restrictions through October 30.
The fresh provincial records affect the section between Ritson Road and Harmony Road. They describe two alternating lanes in each direction, not a continuous closure of the entire highway.
Additional October 23–24 work
Ontario 511 lists two alternating westbound lanes between Harmony and Ritson roads for construction from October 23 at 9 p.m. until October 24 at 8 a.m.
The corresponding eastbound entry, between Ritson and Harmony roads, runs from October 23 at 10 p.m. until midnight at the start of October 24. The shorter eastbound window should not be confused with the westbound overnight restriction.
Nightly restrictions October 25–30
Further entries list two alternating lanes in each direction for nightly construction beginning October 25 at 8 p.m. and ending October 30 at 5 a.m.
These are recurring overnight work windows, rather than a statement that both lanes will remain closed without interruption for five days. Drivers should follow posted directions and check the live provincial information for changes.
The additional Oshawa Highway 401 lane work records were last updated by the province on October 20 between 11:39 and 11:44 a.m. They materially extend the local construction schedule beyond the Ritson–Harmony window in earlier coverage.
Other previously announced restrictions remain separate
The existing October 18–23 entries still describe two alternating lanes in both directions between Ritson and Harmony. Separate work involving Stevenson Road, Simcoe Street and Thickson Road has its own limits and dates; it should not be combined into one long road closure.
This update concerns the newly listed Ritson–Harmony periods. The October 21 DurhamRegion.com roadwork roundup was used as a discovery source, and the dates, directions and lane arrangements were checked directly against Ontario 511.
Construction schedules can change because of weather and work conditions. Consult the live provincial table before travelling.
